Thigmotropism
I wore thorns around my wrist Roping around the palms that feel The sting of another's momentary brush Skin becomes fragile and the nerves Brittle to the movements of others
Yet the flowers sprout out of barren soil Through majesty and macabre Chlorophyll coursing through the surface It feeds color into my cheeks A rosy tinge that makes one blush A nakedness covering my flesh
So I robed this garland around me Intertwined petals and thorns between fingers Felt the pain and picture of being myself I want to be beautiful But I don’t want to be yours
“There is a charm about the forbidden that makes it unspeakably desirable.” - Mark Twain
“Thigmotropism is the growth response of a plant to physical contact (touch).“
The sensitive plant belongs to my Genetics professor. If I’m not doing anything or waiting for class to start I like to poke its leaves.
I glow in the sun. I thought it was just my phone but I edited the video a bit so the light wouldn’t glare off the leaves and my finger’s still blindingly white. I go outside, I swear! D:
