Shock-- that’s what he could say was the emotion he felt as he saw the girl. Was she a girl? He couldn’t be sure. Humans he had seen through the likes of others, memories of sea salt ice cream and monsters that were black as ink. He could recall those things. But now those memories were distant, had they just been a dream? He wasn’t sure; that didn’t matter now though. Now he found that the sea cavern’s exit was blocked, should he try to swim out he may just drown and thus was trapped until the tide receded once more.
“Well what a surprise!” His thick scottish accent was almost an oddity for a duck such as himself, but he was sure the girl before him would be just fine. He just hoped that she could understand him. “I never expected to see anything but rocks in this cave.” Of course he would never come to this place, so out of the way, unless there was adventure or treasure to be had. As of now he found that it was all for naught, which happens, a false story that leads one down the trail of hope.
He was only slightly disappointed up until this point.
By now he was ecstatic with the mystery before him, a lady like herself, he was sure, hasn’t been seen by everyone.
