HEEE HEEE i drew all five leaders of my AshWing story thingy (i am aware of the similarities with warriors im tRYING). it is still a work in progress so things may change in the future regarding the traits of the varieties and i WILL give more details
some descriptions as well as individual headshots under the cut tee hee
swift shadow, leader of the Silent Swamp: the oldest of the five and by far the most mysterious. She rarely talks at meetings or festivals, and prefers to keep what happens in her quiver inside of it.
she is very tall and slender with venomous fangs, a physique quite common in swamp dragons (i will come up with better buzzwords). also she has heterochromia, her other eye is completely green. the bright orange frill and thing in her neck would normally be practically the same color as the rest of her body, but these body parts are used as intimidation against predators, as by pumping blood to them they become larger and way more vivid in coloration, other swamp dragons can have different colors. the pits in the snout are sensory organs similar to those of a snake, making them able to detect bodily heat. the ones in the neck can be used to secrete poison and as rudimentary gills, quite useful in their environment (although i am kinda unsure on the frills and gills. is it rainwing genes? convergent evolution with the coast dragons or seawings? WHO KNOWS). with the swamp dragons im going with more of a poison theme so we’ll see.
Stone, leader of the Soaring Mountains: kind and easy going, always makes sure to do the best for his dragons and avoid needless violence. He is the second oldest leader and the largest, being a low land mountain dragon; this quiver is “divided” by high land (more adapted for flight and smaller in size) and low land ashwings (the biggest in the island with very tough scales, they’re tanks and absolute units). the crest in his head is a trait more abundant in low land dragons, being a hard bone protection against falling rocks or also used as defense for head butting (idc about realism shhgghgrhhg).
Caribou, leader of the Dim Forest: calm and level headed, but willing to stand her ground. Half of her face got burnt in an unlikely incident with a geyser. im thinking of making the forest variety the more average one or at least the closest one to their ancestors (frostwings). dont know if i will add the fur as a trait of this strain.
shark tooth, leader of the roaring coast: very aggressive and distrustful of other quivers. she’s got the shimmer scale mutation common in coast dragons (name may change), making her scales more “colorful” and shiny, with bluer hues. very sharp and spiky, two rows of teeth and gills (not as advanced as those of a seawing though), the tongue works similar to a chameleon’s, except it is speared at the end. i do not know wether ill keep the purple-ish spines in the shoulders (those green things are just highlights not markings lol)
thing wing, leader of the vast moor: the youngest and brashest, very distrustful of everything but masks it with aggression. he is very small, even for moor dragons which are on average the smallest in size. You all know this guy
