Had the doctor actually known the outcome of that ‘resurrection’, she would have never even attempted it. She would have buried her loved one and went on to mourn while living her broken life. But, that was not the outcome. The doctor had to live with her actions regardless. There was no time for regrets, no time for thinking through the consequences. There was only life and death.
His condescending words filled her mind as she tore through painful memories trying to find something that she may have missed. But, there was nothing. Everything became so hectic as their location had been compromised and she was left to rush, left to try untested theories and experiments. Overwatch had fallen, what resources the doctor had previously were severely limited after the incident.
There were so many things that Angela wanted to say, that she felt so compelled to explain but the words were stuck in her throat, perhaps it was the blood loss that was affecting her mind.
“Had I known, I would have never left you,” the doctor spoke, her words were as shaky as the hand that carefully reached up toward his face, fingertips ever so slightly brushing over his skin.
