Things that Perform: Final
Title: Pink Headwear
Medium: Yarn, hot glue, pom pom maker
Slowly, as I was creating my headwear, I realized from my mother's words that it started looking like a headpiece for a wedding. With the addition of pink hues I used in favor of Valentines Day, I decided to go with the idea. Using hanging string, I was able to create somewhat of a veil to go with the main attraction being the head cover. Using a pom pom maker, I was able to pull 3 full pieces of yarn into this headpiece. I believe it is fitting for the season as weddings and valentines day deal with people you love.

Things that perform: Final and in the world.
I chose to document this piece in the night, as this important part of my life has been in the “darkness” to many of the people who know me, but has been so integral to my everyday life.
Min conjunction with my other pieces on the Orgain containers, I decided to make a body suit of these containers, exploring how my body has quite literally become them, and equally how in this moment in time, I find myself “entrapped” in the necessity to continue consuming them.
The robotic and protective quality of this piece, speaks to the monotonous and yet life saving role that the Orgains have played in my daily life.
It was a difficult piece to make, but I learned a lot as always!
Thank you for this assignment!
THINGS THAT PERFORM: Final
Title: Deconstruction of My Childhood
Because I mostly used old trash that I had around my room, I decided to make that the main theme. The head resembles a broken teddy bear, there are old homework pages that are crumbled and glued onto old blankets, candy wrappers, fluorescent stars, paper plate crafts that I used to do all the time, even a fake telephone everyone would do as a kid. I wanted to show a kid refusing to grow up and carrying their childhood bedroom around, even if it is all trash, it has sentimental value, so much that it is very hard to let go.
THINGS THAT PERFORM: FINAL
Attached is the finished result of the Things That Perform assignment. Here, I elaborated on the initial idea of covering myself in trash bags in a way that involves more craftsmanship, effort and meaning, and I believe that I had succeeded. I took multiple strips of newspaper and used modpodge to attach everything together, then using electrical tape after the modpodge had run out. The biggest challenge came by the end, where after putting everything on, the pants kept falling off, so I usually had to walk around in an uncomfortable costume holding my pants up.
