ATLA discussion about which powers are the best are absolutely ridiculous. Ow yes, fire is bad because you can bend the air or water inside your opponent or the ground beneath them? Well, can YOU do it? If you're a 5 year old fire bender you can blast someone in the face easily, can't do that with everything else! That, that is why all the nations are the way they are! If your only power as a kid is to make a small dirt hill to hide behind and throw rocks at everyone, you WILL be building walls and throwing boulder when you're grown up. If your only ability as a child is to glide around, you WILL escape conflict and live on top of the nowhere mountain. And if you're burning animals and insects alive, like you have a magnifying glass with you at all times, when you're five then you WILL be a murderous psychopath and ok with genocide. ATLA shows us that in order to live in harmony we NEED to socialize, else isolation makes us weak right from the start. This is why Aang (as an Air nomad) NEEDED to face his problems head on or why toph needed to get out of her cozy princess life and face the world, this is why Lord ozai needed to be showing mercy. They all needed to stop isolating and show each other that there is another way, no matter what you were born as or what you were encouraged to do, you can choose what you want to become. Anyways, this is why it's important to remember the stages of learning bending and what you're going to be best at, as a beginner, not only as the fire lord or the avatar.
