Initially, Dabi was as unbearable to him as leaning over an open flame. He wanted to shrink back from him the way a child would from a hot stove they weren’t supposed to touch.  

It was the way that he looked; piercings caught between contrasting flesh pulled taut, ghoulish blue-green eyes that lit up the shadows like embers, reminding Hawks that everything about this man burned.
