I love hearing others perspectives on things I feel strongly about.
Having a healthy discussion about why someone thinks how they do is so interesting to me. The way the mind works and the reasons people come up with why they live how they do is fascinating.
A seemingly common problem now is people who feel they need to degrade, yell or can't even finish a conversation with someone if they aren't getting the responses they want or expect.
There is nothing wrong with being passionate about something you feel deeply. There is also nothing wrong with someone having a different viewpoint, idea, or perspective on a deeply held belief. But really, at the end, who knows ANYTHING?!
Most of the stuff people know or think they know, is because someone else told them it was this or that or because they read something, which is basically the same thing. Why not consider another perspective? Can't really get upset and bent out of shape or tell someone they are wrong when you're regurgitating what you have heard or read.
If people could look at discussions that way, with the idea of learning from another, and their thought process, rather than trying to be correct, what great conversations could be had, friends could be made, and lessons learned by changing of perspective. ~I.S.~
