Hello 👋🏻 I haven’t logged in here in *a moment*- I just wanted to say that I hope everyone is staying safe during this difficult moment.
I don’t know how many of u know this but I am Italian - from Venice - and my country has been in total lockdown for almost 2 weeks. Everything is closed except pharmacies, grocery stores, post offices, banks. No hugs. No kissing. No hand shaking. No going to your friends’ house. No going to your relatives’ house. No nothing. Forget seeing your partner. Military and the police patrol the cities and if you are stopped roaming the streets you have to exhibit a permit and a valid reason to be outside. If you lie, you pay a fine. If you disregard the rules, they can even throw you in jail. I’d say we’re managing 😉
Meanwhile keep calm, stay at home, and only go out if you really REALLY must. Groceries..smart shop. I really realllyyyy despise stockpiling and people who raid supermarkets and grab everything for themselves all at once and who cares about others.
A lot of people in the same space = bad. I really hope your governments will take measures to avoid that situation.
If you are in public spaces or even at home if you live with others, maintain your distance of at least 1 meter/3ft. Don’t touch your face. Cough/sneeze in the crook of your elbow if you don’t have a disposable tissue to cover your mouth. Wash your hands with soap for at least 40 seconds or use an alcohol based hand sanitizer (if u have seen some give me a call lmao, out of stock since Feb 21st here). Avoid physical contact. Keep an eye on your teenagers! I know it’s hard but keep your kids inside. Remeber the asymptomatic positives!! They are the real danger cuz they’re spreading this shit without knowing it, this is why it’s important to follow the rules ^^
Staying at home is the key though. Protect your elderlies. Protect your immunocompromised. Protect the doctors and the nurses who are busting their asses to save your lives. Protect those who have health conditions. You may think “oh if I get covid-19 I’ll be fine” yes ok Susan but those you will infect may not be as lucky. No one is immune, be smart and be mindful of yourself and others.
To all of you in countries that are just now taking drastic measures: don’t panic, it’s gonna be fine.
