As a father, I have to prepare my son for the world he has to live in. And since I cannot child-proof the world, I must world-proof my child. 🤔 I'm practicing this future conversation: Me: How do I explain hatred to you? My son: What is hatred? Me: Ok, so there are people whom you've never met nor heard of before, who literally hate you! They hate you so bad, if given the opportunity, they would kill you. All because you are who you are. My son: But why Dad? What did I do wrong? Me: You didn't do anything to these people or cause them any harm son, but they want to do harm to you. My son: (silent, and looking confused) 🙄 Me: I know, I know, it's crazy! And yes these are 100% complete strangers. Yet still, they want to harm you. But remember, these people were taught to hate you by their parents, so don't take it personal. They were raised this way. Do you comprehend the severity of what I am conveying to you? My son: But Dad, why would their parents teach them to hate anyone? Me: They do not have the love of God in their hearts, so the evil one has control of them. This is my reason for teaching you about God, love, honour, humility, and respect for yourself and for others. In life there will be obstacles, and in order to overcome these obstacles, you must master the disciplines of patience, self control, and self defense. These life skills will help keep you focused no matter what life throws at you, and also assist you in any given situation. Remember, your mind will always be your strongest muscle as well as your greatest weapon, so protect it, your life depends on it! My son: I love you Dad! Me: I love you son!
