I’m having one of those weird, introspective fic days. You know the ones, where you over analyze, etc. Today, out of nowhere I wrote almost 7,000 words of a chapter of ItB. I kept getting stuck, would go back and then be off on another slew of words. It occurred to me, that this chapter is going to make some people mad. I acknowledge it. Negan is a polarizing character. I can scream about comic Negan having much more depth that the show hasn’t really let JDM explore til I’m blue in the face, and people will still be like, “fuck that guy.” So, my challenge is not to make him likable, which I don’t think will ever happen. He’s not sympathetic, and he’s definitely not a kind person. But damn is he interesting to write.
