THINYA SOMERVILLE (911 OC)
Thinya is the daughter of a brilliant cardio surgeon and a brilliant war reporter. She comes from London and is part of the British aristocracy. She received a very tough education, her parents often taught her that nothing would ever be good enough. That she had to be brilliant like them. She grew up feeling unworthy of love and that she wasn't ever good enough.
She decided to go for medical school, with the ambition of becoming a surgeon like her mother. Over there, she met James, a student slightly older than her who would soon become her mentor and the love of her life. He taught her to love herself, to believe in herself because she was truly worthy of everything. Together, they wanted to become neurosurgeons. she passed her 5 years and on her 6th year, tragedy hit her.
While she stayed home and studied for her residency, James called her on his way home. there was an accident on the highway so he decided to take the side road. While both were chatting, Thinya heard a loud crash and the phone cut abruptly. She took her keys and drove her car on that road to see what happened. There, she found the ambulance, firefighters and police. James' car was completely crushed and he was on the floor being reanimated by the EMTs. Unfortunately, they had to pronounce his death.
Her whole world collapsed that night, her heart broke and she felt suddenly lost. It took her 6 months to even get out of her apartment. She had given up her studies and let herself cry every single night. What triggered the new start of her life was her mother, who told her in a rude tone that she didn't raise her to be ordinary. That it was just a boy and that she should focus on her career rather than focusing on her love life.
Without hesitating, Thinya packed her things and left that night without ever returning again. She landed in LA. A part of her still wanted to help save lives but she wasn't ready to work in a hospital. Instead, she followed a training to becoming a firefighter specialised as an EMT. And so now, she's just trying to recreate a life with her new job, and see if she feels ready to live her new life fully.
