Reminder for myself and my fellow University students right now: It’s okay if you aren’t productive. These are not normal circumstances and motivation is at an all-time low. Even if you just get a tiny bit of your work done, that’s still an achievement and you should be proud of yourself. Did you write the introduction to that 2,500 word essay? Well, maybe it’s not as much as you’d like, but you’ve started! Did you get out of bed before midday? Well done! It’s very difficult to do that since we have little to look forward to right now, but you managed it and I am proud of you.
Keep going. It’s okay to just exist, I promise you it is.
Motivation is difficult enough as a student without there being a life-changing pandemic. You’re not worth any less just because you feel so heavy this moment in time - energy isn’t easy to find when the world feels so lifeless and forlorn.
