Where could i download brushes? Especially the basic brushes.

you’re in luck; gimp 2.8 is compatible with the .abr brush file type, which is what photoshop uses, so you can search in google ‘photoshop brushes’ and come up with a bunch of resources. you might run into some issues because of how the brushes are created, as they are created for ps and not gimp, just like how you can use a psd on gimp but the effect will be slightly different because gimp may not have the effect that ps does, so you get the color saturation from the psd but not the sharpening effect. i did find some gimp specific brushes, but they are old links and they don’t look very appealing to me x x, but you might find them useful. here's how to dl brushes into gimp, and some ps brushes i like x x
