💝what is a fic that got a different response than you were expecting?

Oh man… sometimes I feel like every fic gets a different response than what I was expecting!

I will say, when Thirst Trapped blew up I was legitimately in shock. Like, I knew text fics were popular but I did not expect that reaction at all. It was kind of overwhelming but I really loved everyone reading along through The Day of Updates and incorporating reader feedback literally into the fic. What a fun ride!

I wrote out long answers to these and then Tumblr broke and I lost them all 😭 rewriting below

1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?

I’ve always loved textfics, and I love TikTok, so I guess it felt natural to combine the two? I was definitely living in the beauty of lesbian tiktok when I saw the video that inspired the first thirst comment. I was like… omg Simon commenting this on Baz’s tiktok page. And then I think I wrote like four chapters in a few days (this is a thing I do apparently, rarely)

3: What's your favorite line of narration?

What even is narration in this fic lol. But it’s probably “He laughs a little, self-deprecating but sweet. If you were already in love with him, you’d find yourself falling a bit more at the sound.”

11: What do you like best about this fic?

I do think this fic is LOL funny almost the entire time. There are some great one-liners. And it’s mostly angst-free. It’s what I like my longfics to do: take the reader on a good time!

And I do love this fic for including my own bisexual crisis in it; that fear that everyone’s looking down on you for taking so long to figure out what everyone already knew.
