she ran to get away from gallifrey,  and now she’s run smack into it again - or at least, another gallifreyan. she’s fairly sure. somewhat sure. it gets confusing trying to discern the things she feels when she’s spent  so long  away from her homeworld, and anyone from it. she staggers back from the collision with the stranger.   ❝ sorry, i - sorry! ❞   she wants to keep running, but there’s a crowd packed tight together not far behind this woman  ( who seems to have just squeezed her way through it )  and few other places to go. her eyes are searching frantically but options are dwindling well into single digits. there’s an alleyway that way, maybe that’s a good bet.    ❝ you didn’t see me, yeah? ❞

Drawn in by the noise, DI Sam Tyler wandered the backstreets of 70s Manchester, eager to uncover the source of his personal siren song. He’s heard it before; the uncanny vwoorp vwoorp. In his dreams. Albeit just as familiar as his drums, this wasn’t a curse. It was hope. A promise.

He turned a corner, a gush of wind sweeping crumpled paper across the damp pavement, and found a blue police box. Outdated. Out of place. In disbelief the policeman stepped in closer, lay one hand against the wood to make sure he wasn’t still dreaming.  

An eternity passed in which he stood and stared in utter confusion, only when the door was pulled open, Sam woke from his stupor and jumped back. “Woah. Sorry. Didn’t realise someone was in there.”

"I made a mistake."

Of course, he'd made a lot of mistakes over the years; some bigger than others. But now that he'd been given a second chance at life he was trying his damnedest not to make more. Being human, though, he knew that mistakes were just part of life and that he would make some just like everyone else. The last thing he expected, though, was for someone to just show up in his workshop. Not even FRIDAY could tell him who she was. And he made a point that his AIs had as much information as they could gather from the world they lived in. If she didn't exist Tony knew he might be in some trouble. If necessary he could call the suit, but looking at her he didn't get the feeling she was there to cause him trouble. What, though, he didn't know and he knew he needed to find out. "So what else is new. Mistakes are common. So what makes you think it's something more."

                        “ I didn’t need your help! “  brunette exclaims, despite the contrary.  “ I had it under control. “ azure hues glare irritably at the woman, blowing at the strand of hair in her face to move it. Hands sink into sand and she manoeuvre's herself off the ground, attempting to brush the sand from her body; a difficult feat in wet clothes. “ Who are you anyway? “ clearly she hadn’t spotted the TARDIS yet, doesn’t recognise The Doctor in her newest regeneration.

     Don’t mind her, she’s rather giddy over the small, dimly glowing infant star cradled in her hands, vibrant smile turning towards the Doctor.

     “I haven’t got to hold a star like this in so long.”
