#the raven cycle #books #notnow #gansey actually being glendower is the most obvious example of this like catch me reading his pov like well yes come on he has to be...#like otherwise. as far as kings go.#what was the point of that extended metaphor. why was everyone including himself calling him that & why was the narrative #supporting it through his magical kingly persuasive powers. why was he able to command people like that. hell why did it even take him so #long to find the corpse in the first place if it was literally just a corpse #just for love of the game? bc the real kings were the friends we made on the way? like please get serious. why would noah even say say #that to him in the first place what was the actual aim of events transpiring in this exact order if there was no wider chronological #ramification to them. if gansey is just anyone and everyone is just anyone. why glendower specifically even.#also how did gansey not clock noahs voice. is it because they no longer technically remember noah or what. this is the most charitable #interpretation i can proffer to the whole affair and it still doesnt feel like enough #i just genuinely cant get over it. they even have the same initial. why did everyone keep calling him king. even gwenllian was committing to #this bit #oh and speaking of gwenllian. why did i think it was so unspeakably obvious that she must have been gansey and blue's child #like not in this timeline iteration of course but in the version where gansey is glendower and blue's face is sewn into tapestries from the #same era and also her kiss was meant to kill her True Love (remember when nothing happened with that btw) and time is a cycle #like i thought it was so fun and was providing a clear friction - gwenllian being older than them but also their child and being scrambled #in ways they arent directly responsible for but also yes they are and have to take accountability for #and she has the same power as blue! and issues with her dad/is vaguely looking for him too! like are you kidding #what was that all for. what was any of that for what was even the point of her #i thought we were doing a whole deliberate formal engagement with the premise of the YA novel as a whole- the idea of a coming of age story #featuring a character looking for something only to realize it was actually himself the whole time. an accidental bildungsroman #where youre both the journey and the destination #but apparently no. the corpse was a red herring and the curtains were blue (no character intended)#and also the demon trying to ruin all of the magic that can keep people alive outside their times just happened to look like a wasp #(the thing that killed gansey specifically)#and also henry cheng was there and i dont think even god himself could tell you why #anyway. excellent books excellent characters will be shilling it to everyone i know. still some questionable decisions in the final stretch.

My friend, I'm afraid you may have misunderstood what sort of band we were. Writing sheet music would very much have required a level of diligence and professionalism that we simply did not possess, and the music changed so often and so significantly that if we had written any it would have been obsolete within months. As far as I'm aware there is no sheet music for any of it.

That said, there almost certainly is sheet music for some of the WW1 songs we based bits on (Goodbyeee, Gassed Last Night, Over the Hills etc) and Teatime with the Kaiser was a riff on "Kicking Horses on Brokenhill" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, so that might be something to look into
