It’s legit tragic that the people who need to watch Miss Americana the most in the One D fandom pretty much won’t because of some weird mix of misogyny and/or soap operafication, but my GOD, is it a masterpiece. In particular, I wish the ends of the spectrum who are perma-attached to the Harry and/or Louis hosepipe would take a quick 90-minute break from sucking off and peek through the looking glass because she’s literally BOTH of them, jesus CHRIST, please, someone come talk to me about her working on her lyrics and the way she tries to deal with the world around her and how much of that is Louis (right down to the mom and fan-validation attachment) or how much the intense jokey focus on her as a talkshow punchline is pure Harry. But all jokes aside, HATS OFF to anyone in her situation who’s making the very real and real-time effort to navigate that she’s a) frozen at the point when she got famous and b) knows that it’s on her to educate herself, break out of that glass box, and use her platform to actually do something, even though it scares the shit out of her team (most of whom are white, male, and/or related to her, no matter that she’s mega wealthy/powerful at this point). And before you come @ me, maybe watch the source material for once in your Greek chorus life instead of pulling some tired “she’s a snake” narrative. If you’re a woman/anyone who identifies as such, enjoy the sheer adrenaline hit of someone tapping into their core “you know what? I don’t actually give a shit what you think anymore” vibe that this thing ends on, and maybe you’ll calm down. ETA: all of us “The Archer” stans? WE WIN
