it’s a question almost everyone wants to hear the answer to — where do you see yourself in five years ? luckily for miyeon, the answer is something she believes is written in the stars.
she’s obnoxiously confident in herself, in her abilities — it’s just something she exudes. it spills out of her and trickles into everything she says, everything she does and it’s never ending — much like a waterfall. she’s an enigma to most who meet her — whether they’re convinced she’s all lies & all manipulation or whether they haven’t realized just how fake she is yet, it’s hard to find people who share the same opinion about someone as complicated as jeon miyeon. but if there’s one thing everybody can agree on about miyeon, it’s that she’s fucking confident and that she’s a fucking hard worker.
so, when she’s asked the question — where do you see yourself in five years ? no one is left surprised by her answer.
she’s not sure whether solar will make it big, but the overall success of the group isn’t what’s most important to miyeon. she’s in this industry to make a name for herself — not to uplift or jumpstart the careers of ten other girls. it’s selfish, and she’s selfish — but she’s determined to achieve every goal she’s laid out for herself — and goddammit if she’ll let anyone else stand in her way, no matter her relation to them.
she hopes that she’ll be able to make a splash once dancing high airs — something she is immensely confident in happening. she knows she’s a good dancer, and she’d argue that she’s fucking gifted — she trained in practical dance at hanlim and studied dance abroad at performing arts school in europe & north america, so she considers herself to be one of the best among the current trainees. deep down, she’s not as confident in her vocals as she is in her dancing abilities, but it’s something she works harder on whenever she gets the chance to — and considering she’s been selected as the main vocal for her subunit, she knows she’s good, and she knows there are many other people who think so, too.
her biggest dream is to be recognized by the public as an amazing, gifted, skillful dancer — and within the next five years, she plans to achieve that. she’s already been choreographing songs for eclipse, including their debut title track, and she plans to continue to build up that resume — she’d like to choreograph songs for NEO alongside xiao and eventually, she’d love to choreograph pieces for solo stages or groups outside her company. she can see herself now, alone on a big stage, performing a sensual, powerful piece she choreographed all by herself — whether it’s at an award show, on the survival program hit the stage, or even at a future concert for solar, she can see it.
the answer to the question — where do you see yourself in five years ? is a simple one.
she wants to be the best dancer korea has seen.
