Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence

The contacts in the year before the election were revealed by intercepted communications, according to four current and former senior American officials.

Phone records and intercepted calls show that members of Donald J. Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign and other Trump associates had repeated contacts with senior Russian intelligence officials in the year before the election, according to four current and former American officials.

So we knew this, but now we know this. There is this bit:

The intelligence agencies then sought to learn whether the Trump campaign was colluding with the Russians on the hacking or other efforts to influence the election. The officials interviewed in recent weeks said that, so far, they had seen no evidence of such cooperation.

But just look at these two facts!

The Russians were in an active campaign to smear Hillary Clinton, Democrats, and disrupt our election. Putin, through the FSB and their affiliated hacking groups carried out that campaign. They did their best to sway public opinion to help Trump win.

Trump people inside and outside of his campaign were talking to Russian Intelligence officials (FSB) and other Russian government officials. The same officials presumably who were a part of the hacking, the smear campaign through Wikileaks, etc.
