Greetings, starfarers! This is Lieutenant Commander Eastman.

I’m proud to announce that I have fully recovered from gunfire-induced leave of absence and have been reinstated in my secondary role as Hallard’s Expeditionary’s official Trinet media representative.

I am also even prouder to announce that Hallard Expeditionary is now returning from its longest-ever expedition! We expect to make port in the core worlds within the next few days.

Lot of people on my level complaining about the pay today. Not the pay they give us. Spacers get it good compared to ground-folk (and I would know) and Hallard is fair. People are just mad the officers are paid so damn much.

The whole argument makes its way around the crews every cycle or two. I couldn't care less, not sure what I would spend the money on anyhow.

Now the sleeping situation, that I have complaints about. Eastman says he has his own cabin and I'm hot-bunking with another crewman, six to a room? Ridiculous.

Temporary Change in Management

Listen up, this is Laydan. Comms officer Laydan.

I had to pull Eastman away from the dataslate. The docs in the medbay tweaked the dosage on the anesthetic and he's somehow even loopier than normal. He's made six posts in the last hour and they all wreck opsec, so I've cut him off.

He made me promise to run this account for him while he's out though. What the hell do people even put on these blogs? Seriously, tell me, I have no clue.

It feels like everyone in starship comms has some kind of crazy ghost story. Got a buddy on the Moon Rising who swears the slipstreams can talk to her. Real stable gal, too, for hypercomms anyway.

Not me though. Half a decade with a headset on and nothing but some spooky noises and old distress beacons. Figures.

Eastman’s been mumbling about some sort of celebration coming up? Or holiday or something? Anyways, It should be around that date will be when this message reaches the core worlds. So happy whatever-it-is to whoever-is-out-there, from the folks at Hallard Expeditionary.
