I don't know if you've heard of this news but am I the only one who thought the US gov't is kind of unfair with their policies? Not only are they trying to deport all immigrants (both illegal and legal) from blacklisted countries, now he's also requiring all people who might plan on moving to the US to make all of their social media public.
There is a good reason why people have their social media private. It's for privacy reasons! I just can't help but feel wary about this because of how other officials can get a little carried away with implementing this rule and endangering someone over their negative opinions about Trump. They're already checking on people's phones and laptops just in case you happen to have something that could threaten US interest.
While I can see they're doing this for security reasons and making sure no shady individual or organization can enter the US illegally, that other countries have been doing this for a while now, this is actually my first time hearing that we all need to provide our public socials. As someone who doesn't have social media at all, I don't ever recall being required to have a public social media account when flying to other countries.
Are they also gonna check your Tumblr, too? All they're gonna find from me are nothin' but stupid memes and doodles.
Do not ever concede to their propaganda.
No security that strips basic freedom is security, that is tyrannical surveillance.
There is no practical reason for the government to be watching people entering the country that closely.
There is no practical way for the government to know you have social media without mindless compliance.
Hitler never was democratically elected by the way. Lots of propaganda around him. He lost ever election.
