Ignoring the prison break stuff (since he didn't get to design that fully with the prison already existing) if Nikolai designed his own saw trap game *from scratch* what would it be like? Who would he put in it? Inquiring minds want to know 🙏
Ok so like ,, Im going to be honest! I had to google what the fuck a Saw Trap is?
But I still have ideas now that I'm aware of the existence!
I think his would have more psychological elements than the usual traps (that I learned of approx 7 seconds ago!) I'm picturing one locked room that is seemingly innocuous. Plain white walls. Plain white floor. Only a screen set up in front of a singular chair that the victim isn't even tied to. It seems simple, yeah? Pick the lock. What is the odd plastic taped to your chest? Who cares. This is simple.
Only the screen flickers to life. Their closet person, a lover, a sibling, a friend who is trapped in another room. Their room is simply horrific. I'm not certain on specifics but I imagine razor blades? As well as a timer that begins at 60. Then, 59, 58, each minute drops down eerily precise.
Nikolai reveals himself because, of course! He appears in the gruesome room so both victims can see/hear him!
"This is a test of wills! Good luck, my friends! Remember to keep calm and keep your wits."
On the screen, a new set of numbers appears. 98% ... 109. Horrifying without explanation besides the twisted grin that was pasted onto Nikolai's face as he disappeared again to the echo of their lovers screams.
The numbers flare red, the razor blades dig another inch deeper into their treasured partner.
The words echo in their ears. "Keep your wits and keep calm."
The plastic on their chest aches against the tender skin.

Another minute, another flash of red, another inch.
Nikolai's laughter fills both rooms with a raccous fascination. "Keep calm! Showcase your human free will! Break the bonds that chain us down in the face of the unrelenting storm! I wish you luck!"
