30 Day History Challenge - Day 19
19. You are most like ____ from history.
Playing catch-up again!
I've been thinking about this since yesterday morning when I read it. I can't think of anyone or anything in history that I'm like....EXCEPT someone that I consider to be a bit of a historical figure. Not in the traditional sense of the word but in the pop culture sense. George Harrison. He was the "quiet Beatle." I have always been very quiet, very reserved. I think his work gets overlooked in favor of Lennon/McCartney works. I love both Lennon and McCartney but George deserves more credit. Sometimes I feel like that, like maybe I deserve a little more credit. (I'm sure most of us feel that way from time to time.) I feel like if I had been in the middle of fights like the ones that happened during some of the recording sessions, I would have done what George did: say, "I'm out" and leave. There is just something about his quiet, laid back demeanor that I have always identified with.
your favorite speech~ you've ever written?
"cassa, my cassa. when you told me that you thought it would be nice if we wrote our own vows, i wanted to change your mind in any way possible. because i'm not you in any way, i don't have a way with words. not the serious, roll of the tongue, it makes your jaw drop sort of way. so here i go, me darcy ralston, clumsy and inarticulate, trying to write his own vow. it's almost a disaster waiting to happen. i have no idea how to say any of this. i want to say it all, how much i love all your quirks, your personality, your hair, your eyes. your eyes, your blue eyes that are an open book to your soul. before i met you i thought i was fine. i had a pack of friends that would go across oceans for me, a house, a girlfriend. and then i met you, and i was somehow shown that i didn’t have it all. i didn’t have the other half of myself. you're everything that makes me complete, cassa, you make me show emotions that i didn't even know i had, you make me sacrifice things that i wouldn't even dream about, you make me happy. not just content. but utterly, blissfully happy. and past all this jibberish the main point of this whole monologue is that i love you, no matter what. and i can’t wait to call you my husband."
