i wonder why theres more french translations for the book adaptations of kirby then english ones... not exactly a complaint or anything im happy or upset by- i just find it kinda odd, with how english localizations tend to be favoured for the sake of marketing and stuff. but, as far as official translations for any books go counting the light novels, manga, and picture books, all as "books" here
theres a french localization of the first light novel volume, none of the rest of it tho theres a french localization for two manga, that being Dedede de Pupupu na Monogatari (the only kirby manga officially localized to english- Kirby Manga Mania- was actually just a collection of stories from this series, translated into english), they translated almost all the volumes of this one into french, calling it "Les Adventures de Kirby dans les Étoiles" honestly, that was a terrible choice. why would anyone want to read this. dedepupu being a shitty adaptation aside, they ALSO translated Manpuku Pupupu Fantasy, under the name "Kirby Fantasy - Gloutonnerie à Dream Land" (usually shortened to just Kirby Fantasy, bc why is it so long) and that series is still ongoing in japan, and also still continues to recive new french translations, so itll probably be fully translated eventually, or at least mostly translated
and for the picture books, Kirby: The Strange Sweets Island, and Kirby: A Stroll in the Sky (both of these are WiKirby's translations of the japanese titles) got both spanish and french translations, but no english ones-
and its not like theyre doing it with other languages... aside from spanish getting those two picture books, kirby manga mania being an english translation SOME of dedepupu, and 7 of the Itsudemo Kirby books being translated into every language the games are in as "It's Kirby Time", thats basically all the official localizations to other languages that are out there, why french specifically...? is probably mostly a coincidence, but i find this kinda amusing
