hi everyone i have taken night shift by lucy dacus and now have interpreted it to be my very specific situation of:
had a crush on someone in a friend group that was unrequited and suddenly being cut out of that friend group in a difficult way that you now avoid them out of guilt for what happened, but also grieving the loss of the friendship and the chance to ever go out with them that is so powerful you feel the need to avoid them all at any costs but still remember everything fondly, even if you want to be angry about the loss.
Sorry but saying that going about your day posting as if this discussion on racism isn't happening is "JUST AS BAD" as racism actually really trivialises the racism that people actually experience. It MAY be bad in your opinion, but you can't possibly think it's just as bad, and if you do then ironically you're the one who's ignorant about the levels of horrific and violent racism that people actually experience.
Hey friend, I don’t think you read my post quite thoroughly. I said that to not speak out against racism as a white person is bad... and also, ignoring the racism and posting about other things is bad. The two are basically the same thing with different words. Maybe the way I wrote the post confused you, but I never said that ignoring racism is just as bad as being racist. But also.... if you ignore racism as a white person, you are allowing racism to persist, so! I think you’re just confused as to what I was saying, tbh

"Demonstrators who occupied Wall Street had many causes but seemed to have at least one thing in common: a lack of hard knowledge about the system they were fighting."
