Jeremy was the romantic, while Danny tried to stay practical.
The medium had these grandiose visions of weddings on a beach somewhere (he kept dropping Hawaii like it was some secret key phrase or password to Danny's heart), but Danny was more worried about and more focused on making sure the bill didn't pass.
One of these discussions came when Danny was working on his laptop, researching Avelyn's voting history in non-supernatural related issues. If she wasn't reelected, then the bill would stall in Congress.
Jeremy took seeing Danny working on his laptop as free time, casually walking into the room to sit on his desk, inches away from Danny's mouse hand. He sat, simply staring at Danny for a few minutes, before the Hawaiian turned his head.
"What?"
It was a bit of a snap, with Danny's nerves on end the closer the bill got to passing.
"Calm down there, Malo," Jeremy retorted while hopping off the desk. "I just had another idea for...you know." He looked away, smirking with a blush. Danny practically slammed his laptop shut, whirling around to stand out of his chair.
"For what? A wedding that may not even be legal by the time we're thirty?" Danny's point was one he'd rehearsed, using it on occasion to bring Jeremy out of one of his daydreaming sessions. Jeremy's face hardened, blush melting away quickly. "Yeah, Danny. For a wedding that might just be legal by the time we're thirty." Jeremy's patience was just as large as Danny's, but they were both wearing thin.
Danny stepped forward. "Why plan for what probably can't happen? When there's bigger things to worry about? When our friends, our families, people we care about are on the verge of being treated as less than fucking citizens?"
Jeremy mirrored Danny, stepping inward, grabbing his boyfriend by the sides of his head. "Because I love you, okay?" Jeremy was clearly angry, but it fell from him like a robe slipping to the floor as soon as the words passed his lips.
Danny froze. "You...what? You...oh..." The pause was too long, and Danny quickly realized the mixed messages he had to be sending. "I mean, I love you too. I just...didn't know when it would be right to say it. And now everything makes sense, with you talking about weddings all the time..." Danny's hands rose to meet Jeremy's, as his boyfriend pulled him in.
