I think a cool thing for tfs is being transformed into something typically small (e.g. a cat) but you retain your original size. i want to be a six foot long housecat. fluffye also.

I'm such a huge sucker for the post-tf learning phase- that period of feeling constantly awkward and fidgety and overwhelmed, just trying to get used to all the things your new body can do that your previous one couldn't (and vice versa)

bonus points for a freshly-tf'd character being shown the ropes by someone who was already that species to begin with, I'll eat that shit up any day of the week

Having not seen the defunctland video but having worked as an amusement park mascot before (not for Disneyland though) yeah that feels like TF. Looking in the mirror and seeing a giant fluffy animal instead of Yourself is a little weird and dissonant at first (and talking to my coworkers, they felt the same way, it's pretty common) but after doing it for a while I think my brain got used to it by temporarily adjusting my sense of self while I was in the costume, so that when I looked in the mirror I thought "that's right, I'm Mickey Mouse" instead of "that's right, I'm me but I currently look like Mickey Mouse". As far as I'm concerned, the mascot is the one driving the suit and performing for guests, and I'm just there invisibly to make sure we don't overheat. Sometimes little things stick with you after you take the costume off - I occasionally found myself still mimicking the mascot's walk and body language while heading to the time clocks at the end of a shift, and I still think of the mascots whenever I see things they like in my everyday life - but overall I think I handled the job-typical mental breakdown really well all things considered

Now, as a very skilled TF writer myself who frequently indulges in practicing self praise to a hyperbolic degree, I WOULD like to say I'm the best writer of TF fiction I know..... but that's unfortunately not true.

That title has to go to CharlieGM, or ebikiyo on furaffinity. Not only do they write TF fiction for far broader subjects than I do (though they do specialize a lot of TG TF and explicit stories in particular), but it's all illustrated in the cleanest, richest, most buttery smooth writing style I've seen in the fandom, with seriously compelling themes and narratives permeating even the most indulgent explicit stories. (ESPECIALLY those, even.) It's genuinely nothing short of astonishing the degree of quality Charlie wields with their writing no matter the subject, and to say that they understand the core appeals of TF in an incredibly broad expanse of directions would be a downright laughable understatement. Like seriously, holy fuck, their story Davai (Warning: very explicit) changed the way I think about corruption TFs like nothing else I've ever read in my life. Writer of both Mature and Adult rated fictions, I'd highly recommend if stories of that category are to your taste, and especially if you have any interest in any direction of TG- you may be surprised!

This story in particular with the two mens' wives that turn into tanukis and then disguise as their old human identities, The Red Lantern, is an FtM TG TF story, rated Adult and features explicit content, to be clear- though the transformation segments and explicit content are also marked and separate from each other, as listed in the first page of this story! It's a really good one, too, like good god. Highly recommended!
