buddie fic idea
i have so many OTHER things to write atm BUT i also cant stop thinking about buck and eddie in a committed relationship and they’ve been living together for like a year now but none of eddie’s family (mom dad abuela etc) know bc eddie keeps insisting it’s not the right time to tell them and buck is kind of insecure about being kept a secret but he really likes what he’s got going with eddie and chris and doesn’t wanna ruin their little family dynamic so he doesn’t say anything but the day before christopher’s 9th bday eddie’s parents call and announce SURPRISE they’re getting on a plane from texas and will be there to celebrate so clear out the guestroom cuz they’re also gonna visit abuela so they’re staying for a week, maybe 2
and buck is like “oof guess cats outta the bag now...”
and eddies like “im sorry do u mind staying at maddie’s til they leave?”
and buck is HURT bc really? now he’s being kicked out of his own house with very little notice and god, how awful is it gonna be to tell chim and maddie that the reason he’s being forced to stay with them is bc his bf of over a year now is too embarrassed of him to tell his family that they’re together and he’s heartbroken of course
and eventually eddie confesses that his parents are very old school (read: homophobic) and it was them he was embarrassed about, not Buck, bc he didn’t want to put Buck through feeling like crap bc when he came out as bi in high school they made him feel so guilty about it he never dated any guys after that, keeping his focus on women, and it wasn’t until meeting buck that he realized he didn’t wanna repress these feelings anymore
and then maybe his parents see how happy he is with buck and how much christopher dotes on buck as another father figure and come to the realization that being homophobic is very two thousand and late and of course eddies abuela (who was like “oh and who is this?” with that lil twinkle in her eye when eddie first introduced her and buck in CANON) is like “mijo pero why would u lump me in with these fools? i’ve known u two were together for like eight months now...just waiting for u to tell me.” bc she’s a good abuela and i love her thanks.
