Why aren't marvel doing a bw movie I NEED TO KNOWWWWWW
OKAY OKAY I HOPE THIS IS RIGHT THIS IS JUST MY IDEA OKAY I MAY BE WRONG
Okay, look at the movie lineup. We’ve got strange, captain marvel, thor, more guardians, immortals, fucking infinity war, and steve and tony in cap 3. Do you see what most of these have in common besides for cap 3 (which I’ll get back to)? SPACE. The marvel universe is going into space, that’s been what they’ve been trying to do for while it seems.
Now why? Well, look at their action movie rivals. Star Trek, the new Star Wars, freaking DC. Space is what’s in. With people becoming more and more interested in space and the universe, space movies are raking in the big bucks (that may have contributed to guardians’ success). Movie makers try to see what people are interested in order to make movies that make money. I’ll bet you that Interstellar will be raking it in.
Now, back to cap 3. That won’t be in space. Well, steve and tony are fan favorites. Remember in the Avengers when they were bitching at each other for half the time? Apparently, people loved it. So, in order to make more money when marvel isn’t in space, they’ll give some angry fun on earth with civil war.
Okay, now black widow. Natasha. The best super spy around. I think that marvel had a choice between captain marvel and a black widow movie. But captain marvel is in space (sorta), so people will want to see it. They’re gonna give natasha some back story in aou but that’s it. Wanna know why? Because of the forever constant sexism.
I have watched many videos about the new trailer and wanna know what most guy fans of marvel think of natasha and clint? To quote “Marvel needs some avengers that can be killed off.” That’s right, fans expect natasha and clint to be killed for dramatic effect.
To conclude, marvel won’t do a black widow move because
They wanna go into space to compete with others and make more money
They want to give steve and tony a 2 hour 30 minute argument for their one all earth movie
Some male fans have made it very clear that they think natasha is not a character strong enough to have her own movie. And since these guys make up a large portion of the audience, marvel isn’t gonna take the risk.
This is all just a theory so feel free to disagree. I just think a lot of people forget that in the movie making buisness, money is everything.
