Callie was super excited for poetry this week, because this was the week that her new friend Mulan would be joining! She liked inviting people to poetry club, even though lots of times they said no because they were busy or because they didn’t get poetry, which, hey, Callie understood and she definitely wasn’t gonna force that on anyone.
But she was excited to see Mulan again. Mulan had seemed very cool – y’know, even though she’d smashed Callie in the face with a soccer ball. But there was also something deeply heroic about Mulan that Callie felt and even though she’d been trying to avoid her more Muse-y destiny, she couldn’t help but consider what Mulan’s story would bring.
She had been having dreams again, though she could rarely make out any discernable figures.
Something big, though. She felt that. On the horizon. She’d walk up just on the edge of a revelation and it would all be swept away.
But – that was a story for another time.
Right now, she stood in front of the Swynlake Town Hall, where the poetry jam took place in the community center part, towel in hand.
“Hi!” she said, upon seeing Mulan, and held up the towel. “Brought this for you!”
