Stella Gomez seemed to be in the same exact position for months on edge yet she still managed to not make any progress. The brunette stood there in the middle of her kitchen, pacing back and forth, phone in hand. She clutched it tightly to her chest and felt the coil of anxiousness tighten with each breath she took. Intentionally, she had planned to call her mother months ago and she had figured today would be the day. Stella never imagined she would be so nervous and scared to talk to her mother because she'd always had her to depend on. It was official. She could be named the worst daughter in history for not telling her mother about her soon to be grandchild. Especially since Stella didn't know how well she would take it. The girl decided she would give her mother a heads up on the phone and go out to New York rather than show up unexpectedly. Abruptly, Stella sat down the phone on the kitchen counter and threw on a light sweater, grabbing her car keys from the hook. That godforsaken place was suffocating her and she needed to get out and think.
The brunette was growing anxious as she had been locked in the house all week. Purposely leaving her cell phone on the counter, she backed out of the small driveway and made her way to the meeting place. Stella wouldn't allow herself to cloud her memory with thoughts as if she did, she would turn around and go home and back out of what she needed to do. Being almost due in close to less than a month, she needed to insure the safety of her son and especially Jake, even her sisters. Pulling up to the lounge that was located in East Hollywood, it gave off a dark vibe and she didn't want to be here any longer than she had to be. Opening the glove compartment in her car, she pulled out the thick manilla envelope and clutched it tightly to her chest. Hopping out of her vehicle, Stella slowly proceeded to the entrance of the place and stood in front of a buff bouncer. His eyes darkened as he looked down at her stomach and she rolled her eyes, "Gomez," Speaking up dryly. Not bothering to look at the list, he nodded and looked down the dark hall, "Down the hall to the right."
Swallowing her pride, she lead herself down the corridor that was coated from ceiling to floor with crimson carpeting. Knocking on the door loudly, she didn't have to wait to hear her father's voice on the other end before helping herself in. Almost instantly, the smell of alcohol flooded her nostrils and she scoffed in disgust. Seeing him sprawled over two other woman was as sleazy as things could get. Bearing his last name was a disgrace. Slamming the package on the table she stood there almost furiously and folded her arms. "This will be my last payment." Her voice was firm and she kept her stare on him, knowing he should acknowledge her presence. "You wish. Not if you want that precious little boyfriend and baby of yours to be alive. And your sisters as well." He smirked and dismissed the two women. Picking up a new bottle of Jack Daniels, he lit a cigarette before taking a seat on the couch. "You wouldn't," Stella challenged him. "Why am I not surprised you were the first to get knocked up?" Ricardo picked up the envelope and held the cigarette in between his lips and Stella's feet were growing tired. she ignored his pesty remark. Pulling out the generously large sum of cash, Ricardo scanned over it and chuckled. "Guess I'll be seeing you next month," Stella's heart dropped and she didn't want to show her fear.
"What the hell are you talking about? You promised?" Stella ran her fingers through her hair and she raised her voice an octave. Ricardo only chuckled and sat back in his chair, counting his money. "You should have learned a long time ago that I'm not one to keep my promises." Everything had changed and there was pang of guilt that shot Stella right through her heart. Her back began aching and she felt as if she was having whiplash. "Although, that's a pretty necklace you have adorning your neck. I'll take that," He stood up and walked closer to her, his eyes glued to the beauty that Jake had given her. "Y-You can't have it." She slurred. He reeked of alcohol and drugs and the brunette couldn't handle the stench anymore. Quickly turning on her heel, Stella whipped the door open and quickly rushed down the hall. "We'll see about that!" He called after her and she felt her eyes sting with tears.
