Arriving at the clinic, Jake was getting more and more worked up the more she spoke and it didn’t help with what she said next either. Letting her words sink in, he silently groaned and slowly turned to face her. Grabbing his keys, he backed away and just got out of the car before opening Austin’s side and took him out. “We’re gonna go inside and see what’s wrong with Austin because our problems are not important right now when we’ve got a sick son. Now. Get. Out." he gritted out through his teeth frustratingly and headed inside.
Stella only rolled her eyes and stared at Jake for a couple of seconds before following him into the doctor's office. The office was busy today and there were plenty of children younger and older than Austin there. Stella's maternal instinct kicked on and she was unfortunately hesitant to push aside her anger towards Jake. She stepped in front of him and walked up to the front desk and patiently wait for someone to assist them. She couldn't stand to look back at Austin and see how much pain he was in.
