hello oc posting except it's about their realm rather than the ocs themselves.. so basicallu,
Astrinth is a giant (continent-sized) archipelago of islands (islands vary in size some are really big and some are really small) suspended in a big "ocean" of sky ☁ the islands are tethered by large roots that connect deep below even the clouds nobody has dared to go under
the next most important thing is that the sky means a lot to them; there are two horizons , the near horizon and far horizon (how that works, I have no idea 🤫) the horizons are very important to the residents and it's used a lot especially in their religions. usually they have a belief like "the near horizon is who you are, and the far horizon is who you can become)
but that's not all about the sky, the sky has weather events that can affect your emotions! for example, there is the quiet blank, where it's usually very cloudy and this is a time they use to reflect on emotions and have rest. or the bright veil, cloudy again but the sun is peaking out, kinda symbolizing hope, and here people make big decisions (like confessing love, moving to a new house, new job, resolve grudges etc)
Astrinth is in a largeeeee universe (unnamed currently..) where there are many realms!! but i was thinking i was like wait what even is a realm? is it a planet? a little bubble of reality in space?? And then it hit me.. astrinth is very focused on keeping everything in "resonance" and loves music n stuff and balance so I realized. WHAT IF IT WAS A LITTLE SONG, like ? AND THEN THE IDEA OF HOW PEOPLE CAN GET TO OTHER REALMS CAME A LOT EASIER . So since each realm is a different resonance / different song, then it wouldn't be like "astrinth is over to the left, ____ is over to the right" NO think of it like changing a radio station! so to get to other realms, there is no portals, but when some songs align (like sharing a measure of music) then a little crossing to another realm is created! it's not rare, actually pretty common, so you aren't like trapped waiting for the crossing to come. there is ONE other realm i have, sonara, i made this because MiSO and ViREi come from there, i just don't have much about it. but it's more of a big city type thing and very big into music / idols. astrinth is definitely more nature-y. well there's like no "computers" or advanced stuff anyway. well- there kinda is- IT'S COMPLICATED, OKAY. I'M GETTING ON A RAMBLE HERE I SHOULD STOP
so that's most of the main stuff i will go more into detail on settlements / cities, geography, magic/tech/physics and more in future posts?
Sorry there is so much here, its complicated and idk how / too lazy to make it shorter.. if you read this far comment "marisyl" that's an OC from there haha. i just want to know if people actually read this and if i should post about it more. if this annoys u, u can send me an anon or something idk.
it's really embarrassing posting OC stuff 🫠 hopefully people are interested. maybe in the future i will make a google doc or something and have things more clean. (This is all in my notes app..)
