Malapert - Clever in manners of speech.
When personally enchanted, there is no escape. Andromeda glided into a spiraling staircase of cat and mouse; Alice and the Cheshire cat, whose smile was the penchant for all. That, Andromeda recalls, was Victoria Clearwater. Her lucid memory could dwell upon how biblically Andromeda observed every action at various times. The effect of the girl was phenomenal- like taking a drug that made your eyes see music or that you could hear emotions.
"Your eyes are like kaleidoscopes, 'Dromey. I want to stare at them for fun," Victoria mused once in class, startling Andromeda soothingly with her perversely calm voice. The girl that usually sat in front of her amused the students around her, overlooking the Slytherin girl. The urgency of her incomplete homework drew near as the professor strut down the aisleway of desks checking the papers of each student. Andromeda set her quill down, knowing a lost cause when she saw one; there was no point in getting work done when there was a distraction at all ends.
"I don't have kaleidoscope eyes, Victoria."
"Then what do you call the wayward green on your face?" The girl leaned on Andromeda's desk, propping her chin on her hand and staring closer at Andromeda, "The Andromeda Black; a girl of caprious activity steadfast words. Honey, you're like an illustrated book without writing and all I want to do is read."
The classroom seemed to hush in Andromeda's head, muting but the voice that spoke to her. "Don't you know a picture's worth a thousand words?" The Slytherin shook her head slowly, cracking a smirk, "You couldn't possible read my eyes, Victoria. Leave that for the library."
"The eyes are the window to the soul, 'Dromey," She quipped, "Your soul is no nightmare. And whenever there's a draft, don't you close the windows?"
"I welcome the cold," Andromeda snapped, "And maybe you don't have to close your eyes to dream, Victoria," She rose slightly, matching her eye-level, "Wake up." Andromeda pulled her books together and slid away from the desk, taking her own leave towards the door.
"Of course we aren't dreaming, but that doesn't mean it's reality." Andromeda glanced over her shoulder grimly towards the Ravenclaw, her lips in a tight line of annoyance. Victoria was like human magic and Andromeda hated being charmed.
