There was a glow; soft, blue, dim as the two figures sat away from the small screen. Their show had been long over, the laughter died down and the liquor flowing their veins. How many beers had they consumed ? Two ? Four ? Ten ? Booster lost count, the combined number became jumbled up in his mind as blue eyes stared at the Lantern. Guy stared back, the blue tracing every curve of their faces, highlighting their cheeks and jawlines. Booster hadn’t taken notice of their faces growing closer. Two blues becoming one. Alcoholic breaths mixed with the heated room. Noses bump. Lips locked. Kisses tasting of warm beer.
Booster didn’t know what happened. One moment he was off to report to monitor duty, a job he had been dreading all day to work, and the next, stopped by a white glove. The palm covered his star, a pressure applied for the golden hero to press against the wall which stood next to him. He complied, a single brow arched as tinted gaze lowered towards the redhead. Guy’s cheeks were tinted in a pink glow while face twisted in mixed emotions. Irritation. Frustration——- Desire ? Booster was about to ask, lips parted only to be stopped by Guy’s rougher ones. He relaxed, fingers curled around orange locks wanting the kiss to deepen. Michael knew. After all—- he was giving Guy signals all day.
Booster finally exited the bathroom only to be welcomed by a well dressed, completely ready Guy. His patience was thin, evident from the look on his face. Lips thin, arms crossed and furrowed brows. What felt like twenty minutes was actually an hour and a half of Guy waiting on Booster to finish dressing for their date. They’re late and they both know it, clear as day by the look Guy was giving Booster. It’s not his fault it takes a long time to look this good—– maybe it was. Cerulean eyes rolled at the agitated expression as soft hands cupped clean shaven cheeks. They were warm to the touch, even warmer when he lowered himself to kiss the Lantern. He smelled of old leather and heavy cologne, subtle hints of Booster’s shampoo staining his clothes. When he pulled back, Guy’s expression soften, agitation melting away. He lost and Michael knew it. This was one of his weaknesses.
Nature was not Michael’s forte. Getting down and dirty just for the hell of it. Honestly, he has no idea how Guy was able to do any of this. Catch a meal big enough for the two of them and lay on the cold, hard ground. Exhaustion collided with Booster like a truck, their previous hiking trip wore the blond out. He couldn’t take a long, hot bath in the middle of the wilderness and an icy bath in the lake brought goosebumps. His body itched, golden locks stuck in every direction and clothes smeared with dirt. Guy took notice and began brushing away several strands of hair from Booster’s face, trying to rid the pout forming on his face. ( Even if he thought it was cute. ) A huff escaped his nose while body scooted closer for warmth and a head to rest on. Foreheads touched, mud painted their faces as the two kissed under the star covered sky. Next time they’re getting an SUV.
This wasn’t his time. Wasn’t his period. He was only here because a job needed to be done. Get in, fix the time anomaly, then get out. The only problem was it became a lot longer than Booster had anticipated being. Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to days. Nostalgia was soon flooding his judgment, moments in life he once had and took for granted. The close friendships. The strong partnerships. His relationships. This was what time travel does to Booster—– makes him think; remember all the good he once had and desperately missed. He sought affection, a head to rest on even if it was for a minute. He can hear Rip’s voice shouting in the back of his mind as his footsteps tapped along linoleum floors NOT to find him or make contact with him. What if he found out ? If he KNEW he wasn’t their Booster ? What if he——– ?
His thoughts were silenced by the sleepy gaze on him. Michael’s breath hitched, realization struck that he made a physical b-line towards Guy. He stood there, eyes fixated on the tired male, body in the middle of the door frame. Arms motioned Booster to come closer, their ritual of resting upon each other in full swing during this time period. Alright, cool, he can do this. Act natural, Booster, act natural.
❝ Missed me ? ❞ Voice oozed with confidence, body made it’s way closer to the lying figure. He was welcomed by arms wrapping around his as a quick, rough kiss was placed upon chapped ones. The curl returning once more.
