the sublimely kind @semperlitluv requested that i share three things about myself on this sunny spring afternoon! of course, friend! if you’d like to, please join in: @megalong, @hondagirll, @pasmonblog + @sarahbeniel
i. i broke both my legs at the same time as a sophomore in high school, which - i’m not even kidding - was the onlyyyyy reason i avoided spectacularly failing algebra II. freak accidents for the win!
ii. i went to a world series game at citi field on halloween of all nights! the mets are notorious for being fantastically wonderful or horribly lackluster! but i love(d) mike piazza and david wright and so was phenomenally attached for manyyyyy years! 2015 was my inaugural teaching year, and the mets were doing surprisingly well. long story short: i told myself if they made it all the way, i’d use a paycheck to buy tickets because it was a sign of good luck for my career! AND I DID.
iii. my bedroom is ballet pink, i have a headline-themed comforter (featuring paris, new york, london, etc.), my walls have three posters: a national book festival one from 2005 signed by meg cabot, a signed ingrid michaelson ‘songs for the season’ tour one, and one for lincoln center’s production of my fair lady - signed by the cast; including laura benanti!, there are fifty gazillion dvds in my cabinet and nearly as many funko pops; my current favorites of these are robin from stranger things - with her little whiteboard and painted nails, 70s wanda, unmasked hope van dyne, and alexis freaking rose!
