Sounds like it’s not a real corset, or you really badly laced D: hope you end up okay either way!
It is a real corset, I just had it laced tighter than it probably should have been, and the muscle was already torn, and where its at makes it so even the littlest shift bothers it.

So a blog called thisisnotacorset reblogged my picture saying that my new corset was not a corset. They fail to realize that it actually is. It does modify my body and do all the things that corsets do. This person needs to stop being such a fucking asshole and take my picture off their blog.

Since there’s a lot of people sending hate to blogs dedicated to correcting misstags in the corset tag, I feel my personal experience is valid. So back about 2 years ago I had saved up some money and thought “hey, I’ve been wanting a corset since I was 10! I think I’ll get one.” So I go online looking for some corsets, I had come to this one site that had a corset for $40 with “steel boning” I was seriously considering buying it to WAIST TRAIN IN. of course, back then I was almost 16 and had only read about corsets for a few months, So I didn’t know that much. I wanted to see some reviews on some other corsets however, and I was actually considering making one myself to test my sewing skills. So I watched some videos from bishonenracher on YouTube. I could see she was very educated about corsets and corset training and she only made me want to learn as much as I could about corsets! I actually started going into the tag on tumblr and I would see all this lingerie and stuff that wasn’t corsets, this annoyed me to a pretty high degree. which is where I stumbled upon thisisnotacorset, I really loved her sassy attitude and her vocabulary as well as her taking the time to tell others how something they were wearing did not qualify as a corset, that made me pretty happy that someone understood my frustration. I bought my first corset from hipsandcurves.com in February this year and i’m still pretty happy with it. Im planning on buying my next one from orchardcorset, even after buying my first corset i’ve learned a lot about different level quality in corsets! So really, id like to thank blogs like thisisnotacorset and youtubers like Bishonenracher. Without their shared knowledge I probably would have wasted my money and hurt myself trying to waist train in a piece of lingerie. because I am pretty partial to them, I really don’t like it when people send them hate. people like them are just trying to keep others safe and informed. Ever since I entered the corset community I’ve only been complimented and encouraged to do what I want with my body, ive never seen anyone in the corset community body shame, the only time thisisnotacorset actually fights back is when people straight up insult her just for correcting them or are just plain rude, and even then, she didn’t say anything about another persons body. Everyone, I hope we can all be mature adults and not insult Eachother over garments. If something is a corset it is, if it isn’t, it isnt. Its as simple as that, really.
(I'm probably going to get a lot of shit for this, but its ok. I understand that some people just aren't mature, I deal with kids a lot, so i'm use to it.)
