Car crash update under the cut.

As it turns out, I wasn’t 100% OK after all.  Later on Monday, my neck really started hurting, so much that I could not turn my head or sleep.  I went to the doctor yesterday and he told me that, in the impact of the crash, I have done some soft tissue damage to my neck, which has resulted in an inflammatory reaction as my body starts to heal itself, and that’s what was causing the pain.  He also looked at me and said ‘You aren’t thinking of going to work today, are you?”  He could see I was still quite shaky and emotional (which was why I hadn’t been to work on Monday) and told me not to go back to work until Thursday.

So here I am - it is Wednesday at about noon, and I am feeling a lot better now having rested and taken some strong painkillers for the last 24 hours or so, plus getting some sleep last night which always helps.  I think I will be fine to go back to work tomorrow (by public transport), but in the meantime I am continuing to take it very easy, letting my neck (and my spirit) heal.

The car itself is off being repaired - we were very lucky to get a slot yesterday which the insurers arranged (otherwise we would have had to wait two weeks), so I gathered all my courage and carefully drove the damaged car 45 mins across town (I went to the doctor after that).  So at least that is now underway, although not sure yet how long it will take to fix.

Could have been worse!  I will be as good as new, as will the car.  Thank you so much for your hugs and your kind words and thoughts - it means so much to know you are out there, caring what has happened to me.  You are the best!
