83 truths about yourself
Rules: When you get tagged the game is to write a note with 83 truths about yourself. After that you’re supposed to tag 25 people. You also have to tag the person who tagged you.
Tagged by strikerr-eureka, rorykurago, jaegerdelta, thisiswherewestay, janusmuses... Took me like 8 months, but I’M DOING IT! SEE! : D Lol! (currently trying to slowly work through my 118 drafts... I kid you not)!
1. Last beverage: Milk. 2. Last phone call: Odile (one of my best friends, who is like a sister to me really). 3. Last text: I am a texting virgin who has never yet texted anyone in her life. Not sure I’d even know how. 4. Last song: "Say Something" - A Great Big World (see next question). 5. Last time you cried: This morning. And here’s why damnit! My tears are usually Hansens or Becket brothers related.
Have you ever: 6. Dated someone twice: Yes. 7. Been cheated on: I wouldn’t know if I did. 8. Kissed anyone and regretted it: Not really. Kissed someone, and then realized that I was not in love with them and uncomfortable with a romantic relationship between us, yes. But I can’t say I really regret the kiss itself or having gotten in the situation, though. 9. Lost someone special: Yes. 10. Been depressed: Yes, but just depressed in mood. I don’t think I’ve ever reached the stage of clinical depression; although I have been through a burnout. 11. Been drunk and threw up: Yup! According to people around me, I managed to do it with an impressive amount of class, calm and dignity, too.
List your three favourite colours: 12. Purple. 13. Orange. 14. Blue.
in the last year have you: 15. Made a new friend: Yes. 16. Fallen out of love: No. 17. Laughed until you cried: Oh yeah. 18. Met someone who changed you: Yes. Although “change” is a huge word. Some people have influenced and broadened my perception of the world and certain issues. So I’ve changed certain things about me, but who I am at the core is pretty stable. 19. Found out who your true friends are: This is always an ongoing process. But I do have a few friends that I feel very confident about. 20. Found out someone was talking about you: Depends what you mean by that. I do have friends that will come to me and say “Hey! [Insert name] and I were talking about you the other day!”... 21. Kissed anyone on your FB list: Well yes. My partner is on it. ; ) And so are a few exes and ex-friends with benefits who have remained good friends following us breaking up or deciding to remove sex out of the equation, now that I think about it. 22. How many people do you know on your FB list: The majority although a lot of them are acquaintances. 23. Kissed a stranger: No. 24. Drank hard liquor: I no longer can. 25. Lost glasses/contacts: Nope! 26. had sex on a first date: Nope! 27: Broken someone’s heart: If I did, no one’s told me. Although some of my male friends were interested in a romantic relationship, but when I told them ‘no’ they remained the good friends they were to me and didn’t continue to push to win me over, believe it or not! So if they were ever heartbroken by my refusal, they apparently learned to get over it and value the friendship we had and in many cases still have. 28. Been arrested: Only for speeding. Mind you never over 130 km/h (i.e. 81 mph). 29. Turned someone down: Sadly, yes. 30. Cried when someone died: Yes. 31. Fallen for a friend: I have squishes for my friends regularly. And tend to fall in love over and over again with my partner who I do consider to be my best friend.
Randoms: 32. Do you have any pets: Yes, an adorable little green cheeked conure named “Willow”. 33. Do you want to change your name: Nah! I rather like my first name. And thankfully I carry the family name of my father, not my mother (i.e. the parent who abused me). 34. What did you do for your last birthday party: I’m usually too ill to tolerate birthday parties, sadly. 35. What time did you wake up this morning: 8:40am. 36. What were you doing at midnight last night: Trying to fall asleep and failing miserably. 37. Something you can’t wait for: Doctors to finally figure out what the fuck is wrong with me, if they ever do. No longer being a prisoner of my own body (that would be nice). 38. Last time you saw your mother: Somewhere before November 1st, 2011. I hope I never will see her again if that was entirely up to me. 39. One thing you wish you could change about your life: If that was only one thing? Having a mother capable of emotional empathy who doesn’t suffer from a narcissistic personality disorder and isn’t a sociopath. That would be my priority. 40. What are you listening to right now: The ventilation in the room. Like seriously, it’s still too early to wake up the parrot, so there’s not a sound in the house except for the ventilation system. Lol! 41. Have you ever talked to a guy named Tom: It’s probably happened once in my life at least, whether I was aware of it or not. Don’t recall ever having had friends or even a classmate named Tom, though. ANYONE HERE NAMED TOM?! HELLO! : D 42. What’s getting on your nerves: Emotionally manipulative people. 43. Most viewed webpage: Likely Tumblr. 44. Pet name: You mean the name of my pet? Or a nickname people like to give me? Name of my pet: Willow. Nickname: Mémi, Amé, Mélie... 45. Relationship status: Common-law relationship 46. Zodiac Sign: Gemini, rising sign Sagittarius 47. College: Graduated back in 1998 48. Hair colour: Dark brown 49. Long or short: Very long (currently reaches my butt, used to reach my knees). 50. Height: 5′7½’‘ (1.75m) 51. Do you have a crush on someone: my partner. 52. What do you like about yourself: I’m going to sound like Kaidan Alenko here, but my integrity. 53. Tattoos: A butterfly with a rose on my lower back to the left side. 54. Right or left handed: right 55. First piercing: had my ears pierced as a child, when I was about six (I think)... But now those piercings have totally closed up. I don’t think I’ve worn any earrings over the last 18 years. 56. First best friend: Her name was Julie. We met when I was three... Stayed friends for about nine years (until she started hanging out with the kids who were bullying me and throwing me against lockers and bathroom stalls when I was in 6th grade). That’s the first I remember. 57. First sports you joined: Probably alpine skiing. I started when I was three. I have issues with gross motor skills and coordination so that whole trying to run while doing other things (like trying to catch a ball) doesn’t work for me. And I’ve never found a single person who ran slower than I did. So I totally suck at sports unless it’s martial arts, dancing or alpine skiing. Or “I used to suck”, I should say. Haven’t been able to do any type of sports in six years. 58. First vacation: Probably Florida. 59. First pair of trainers: Trainers... Like running shoes? Too young to remember. 60. Eating: Right now? Cereals with blueberries. 61. Drinking: Milk. Kinda goes with the cereals. 62. About to: Finish my breakfast. Then probably wake up my parrot. 63. Listening to: Still the ventilation system. 64. Waiting for: 10:00am to be there so I can wake up the bird. 65. Want kids: Yes. But I’d need to be able to have the required health to care for myself first. 66. Get Married: Yes. But once again, I’d need to be able to sustain and participate to my own wedding ceremony. See, a lot of Quebecers don’t really associate marriage with the notion of commitment. It’s more perceived as throwing one great party to celebrate your love. I already have a spouse, and we’ve been together for nine years (living together for eight). If I get to have the health required to throw that super cool celebration, it’s great! Otherwise, I’ll be happy either way and my partner and I already consider our relationship a lifelong commitment. 67. Career: I used to be a nurse clinician case manager. Now if I can ever work again, I’d likely try to reorient myself towards psychology or neuropsychiatry. Or, if there’s the infrastructure (or opening to get the infrastructure) for it, I would love to become a case manager for other patients with a ME/CFS diagnosis given how many of them tend to be misdiagnosed and poorly investigated.
Which is better: 68. Lips or eyes: I’ll say eyes since I tend to really look people in the eyes when I talk to them, so I’ll likely notice them first. 69. Hugs or kisses: I’ll say hugs, since they can be shared with more people. 70. Shorter or taller: Irrelevant. 71. Older or younger: Once again, irrelevant. 72. Romantic or spontaneous: How about simply genuine? 73. Nice stomach or arms: Arms, because it’s nice to be held. 74. Loud or sensitive: Sensitive. 75. Hook-up or relationship: I’m (pan)demisexual, so definitely relationship. 76. Trouble maker or hesitant: Not sure what that means. I’d probably prefer that someone stops to think before they break the law and wind up in prison - if only for their own good. So I’ll say hesitant.
Do you believe in: 77. Yourself: Generally speaking, yeah. I believe in knowing my limits and having realistic expectations regarding what I can and can’t do, too. So I believe in myself but I don’t overestimate myself, though. 78. Miracles: Not really. Crazy strokes of luck, yeah. But I’m not sure I’d call them miracles. 79. Love at first sight: Depends how you define it. But given how fast I connected with my current partner, I’d say that some people give you a good and strong impression the first time your eyes meet. 80. Heaven: Open to the possibility, but I prefer not to dwell on it too much. Like my partner says “we’ll cross that bridge when we get there”. In the meantime, I’ll just continue to try to care for those around me as best I can and work on making a difference in as many people’s lives as I can. I’m way more preoccupied with what’s happening down here than up there. Given that the only type of God I would worship would be a non-controlling, empathetic, benevolent, and sensible / rational one. Well, I’m sure they wouldn’t hold it against me for having chosen to preoccupy myself more with Earthly matters during my life, and based my sense of morality on my own belief that treating others with respect and kindness is the right thing to do, regardless of any promise of rewards in the next life. So there might be a Heaven. If there is, it will definitely be a nice surprise. If there isn’t - well - I’ll have lived a good life to the best of my abilities and resources. Nothing’s wasted! 81. Santa Claus: Only with a child’s heart. 82. Kisses on first date: Of course! Enjoy it! 83. Angels: Kinda goes with the “Heaven” category. ; ) But whether of not I believe in them, I’ve always had a very soft spot for them.
I’m tagging: Whoever wants to do it, please do the thing! : )
