On English:
Oh how I love the English language!
It is efficient and effective at quickly conveying information, at least that’s what they want us to think! In actual fact, it is one of the most horrifyingly, complicated monstrosities thought up over the entire history of this planet. As such, it is rather fun to play around with. My current favourite mind-bending sentence is as follows (it is grammatically correct, I promise):
Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.
I still can’t work my way around it without help, so I managed to find a site with a worthy explanation after many hours of searching random sites (see link below).
In short, it explains that buffalo is an animal, a city and a verb (meaning to intimidate/bully). I quote:
“Buffalo buffalo (bison from Buffalo NY) [that] Buffalo buffalo buffalo (that the bison from Buffalo NY bully) buffalo Buffalo buffalo (are bullying bison from Buffalo NY).”
Sometimes I wonder, no I seriously wonder, why on earth we chose English to be a global language spoken in countless countries internationally! I guess this is why, even if they did exist, the aliens have been avoiding us...
