I vow, to my future daughter.

This I Vow

I realized that it would never be me. There would always be a someone else. I'm writing you off another time but I know I love you; so it won't be easy. When you told me you loved me too, I was happy. I found friends, i almost found others who wanted to mutually share their hearts with me, in a fair trade together- but I strayed. My biggest distraction. For whom I met so long ago. I was faithful, and loyal- even though you held my heart I did not hold one in return. I looked at no one else, and you were perfection. Yet you never listened .. How much love I truly gave you in your lowest times. It was unconditionally placed, and for that, I am sorry I am scornful. I did not pry, nor did I knock on the door that she occupied. For only she could enter this room of yours, and it was not my place. I have decided, to no longer wait by that door. Or to mention the three words I do not abuse. For if I love someone, I do. Yet you were always my light house, guiding me back to you. I will find love. I will be patient, and I will wait; for one day I will spoil someone who can say they love me back and those words are for me, and only me. I will not cry into a pillow, or feel pain alone. For one day someone will understand my pain as I understand theirs, and it will be our pain. My newest discoveries, my highest, my lowest, my achievements are for my future to see. As I will unconditionally, truly, love and cherish them for their imperfections. For this imperfections will be perfect. A definition of everything I could possibly adore. I vow to find love, but I vow to no longer- love you.
