the book was unholy good (and I almost never read books) but yes it’s violent. it’s about murdered children after all and that’s not for everyone (and yes there is torture in the beginning of the book/movie)
i really want to read it, because i can stomach that stuff when it's in writing... but here's the thing... if i'm going to read fiction, i need it to be a beautiful perfect fantasy with a fluffy love story that i can escape into... otherwise i would just pick up a history book and read about military history and wars and torture and the shit that is humanity (and i do. all the time.)
