Embark on a wildlife trek in Chimmini, Thrissur
Kerela, the land of backwaters and beaches, has much more to it. On my last visit to #india I was completely blown over by the #trekking opportunity here. Like most trek trails in the south, Chimmini also exposes you to lush greenery all along the route and is also an easy trek.
So,how about trekking in a wildlife sanctuary? Yes, located in the Thissur district of Kerela, Chimmini is a famed wildlife sactuary. My innate love of bird watching finally found abode along a trekking trail as well. The rainforest wilderness houses almost 160 bird species. Keep your eyes open , you might just catch a look at India's largest butterfly- Southern Birdwing and also the Blur Mormon! Apart from trekking, you can also go bamboo rafting!
Fromthe neighbouring town of Amballoor its just 12 km away. October to March is the trekking season in this spacious wildlife sanctuary.
