It’s been one year since I’ve done #thisweeksbake It’s been several years since I decided to eat plant-based. I share what I cook or bake because cooking brings me joy. Most days I love spending time in the kitchen. It’s my love language. Second, I’m completely self taught. I didn’t peel my first potato until I was in my 20’s. I didn’t think a salad could be a meal. I’m hella proud of how far I’ve come. Growing up I ate out every meal. Grandy’s, McDonald’s, T Bell, and I finished my day off with a bag of skittles. I was dealing with a list of health issues— the worst being chronic migraines. I tried EVERYTHING. It took me years to finally change my diet. I refused to believe it was my diet that caused my ailments. Not my precious bbq. As time went on I quit smoking & drinking, ate more real food, exercised more and replaced my Diet Coke with water. I share this because when you find something that works you want everyone to know about it. It’s not some magical pill or shake.
