Well, unpopular opinion on the way I guess. I don't get the whole saving yourself for marriage-thing within religion. I get that some people wants to do it for themselves and makes an active choice at an appropriate age, but not when you're taught in church that sex is a sin and you make the promise when you're 10. I'm not saying that the sin-part isn't something to fear - I don't know life after death, but I just don't think that it's a fair system because people (girls) miss out on so much.

I'm religious so I kinda understand this.

I've been taught that sex before marriage is a sin as told so by the bible, but I also know that theres reasoning behind it on why in addition to a book saying it. a lot of times, you regret what you did with the person you lost it too, and theres that feeling of guilt you cant wash away. theres also the possibility of pregnancy, and the guy has absolutely no reason to stay. why would he??? sometimes the sex is meaningless, and idk maybe its just a religion thing but i think you should lose it to someone who means something to you. marriage is an easy way to do that, which is why its big in religions. its almost like a "i saved myself for someone special and im marrying you and giving myself to you because i really believe youre the one i want to spend the rest of my life with you" kinda thing which is actually pretty sweet.

i lost my virginity already and im not married, but i know girls who havent even been in the church who have made the choice to wait until marriage. i dont think they're really missing out on a whole lot if its their choice- it might be taught to some girls, but ultimately its their choice. theyre not brainwashed!! c:
