Yup
So sometimes I really wonder about people. The motivations, goals, whatever. How do people think they are good when they treat others the way they do?
All around me I see a systemic lack of fucks being given. The me generation. The compensation nation. The lack of empathy for your fellow man.
A glass ceiling still unshattered. The women who defend it envious of other’s success.
The refugee left to die fleeing from a war your government was cause of because you don’t like their skin.
The liars, the cheats. The fair weather friend.
What happened to society? Are we not better?
Did Orwell really have us pegged?
I see the world on the brink and everyone else goes about life as if everything is fine. But it is not.
We embrace the false headline, want our heroes to fail. Why?
Are we so pathetic as a species that we blind ourselves in the muddy waters of rampant capitalism and religious fundamentalism?
People wonder why I’m not social. If all you ever want to talk about is a team in blue playing a team in red, full of players from 1000s of miles away or how brown people are to blame or that women having children makes them less worthy or that your god is better than all other gods or that this movie star is dating that singer, then I’m not interested.
Bread and games, bread and games. Like every empire that has ever fallen the signs are there for all to see, but ignore.
People think I’m weird because I am passionate about right and wrong.
