I love the Invaders because the core team is:
Steve Rogers, Captain America: World's only successful super soldier. Not a perfect soldier but a good man etc
Jim Hammond, The Human Torch: technically incorrect as he's an android. He goes on fire, he flies, he canonically killed Hitler and kept the memory to watch in HD whenever he liked.
Namor Mckenzie, The Sub-Mariner: angry prince of the sea, he can fly, he's super strong, he can breath underwater, we're only 50% sure he's actually on our side.
Thomas Raymond, Toro: yeah he's just a kid but he's a MUTANT kid. He can go on fire, he can fly, he's got rapid healing and slowed aging.
And then:
James Barnes, Bucky: yeah, that's a kid we gave a shit ton of special forces training to, basically groomed in being a child soldier and now use as an assassin. He's fully human. Like, 100% human. Not even any regressive mutant genes or anything. Yeah, we're petty sure we might've ruined his life for the greater good. He makes for excellent PR against the Hitler Youth, though.
