It's Lanny's birthday. I woke up extra early and waited for his alarm to go off. I excitedly sang happy birthday and asked what he wanted for breakfast. I'd make anything or would go grab any special requests. He lets out a long, loud "welllllll... why don't you just have tea with me and watch the news?" "That's it?" "Yep." And that pretty much sums him up. I've known him for half my life and he's just as simple and down to earth now as he was when I first met him, 15 years ago. I know I rave about Lanny all the time. I'm sure it gets old for most. But truly, this guy is one of a kind. I love his heart, his passion, his hearty laugh and all the other great things that come with him. We're celebrating big this weekend. But for today, we'll go to work like we do every Tuesday, and tonight we'll eat pizza and play games. And that's all he wants. And I wouldn't have it any other way. Happy birthday, Mr T. I love you.
