I took a closing shift at the Green Hills store today, and a precarious rainbow appeared on, of all things, a stack of oatmeal cups. The sun shines sharply on the store for about fifteen minutes when it sets, and some sort of crack in the window became an incognito prism, which in turn shone on the cups for about three minutes before it went away. Something I still don’t understand is that your shadow has to be cast on the cups in order for the rainbow to appear; it’s too bright to see otherwise.
